The Western Australian public health system has multiple levels of administration including the Department of Health WA, metropolitan and country health services and individual health units and hospitals.
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH WA
The Department of Health WA is the principal health policy adviser to the Minister for Health.
It also contracts with the metropolitan and country health services and other private and non-government health providers to deliver health services in the community.
HEALTH SERVICES
The metropolitan and country health services are responsible for the management and delivery of services in their locales.
The wide range of services managed includes the hospitals, mental health, community and public health services and health services for older people. |
